External Graphics Adapter for MacBook M1 and M2

Step-by-step Instructions:

IF YOU PURCHASED THE EXTERNAL GRAPHICS ADAPTER ONLY:

  1. After purchasing the Ascrono External Graphics Adapter, download the driver from the link above and install it on your MacBook.
  2. Connect the adapter to your MacBook using USB-C or USB-A port.  The adapter should be recognized by your MacBook automatically.
  3. Connect your first monitor to the Ascrono External Graphics Adapter using the HDMI port. Make sure the monitor is turned on and set to the correct input source.
  4. You can connect your second monitor to another adapter, which you may already have. Again, make sure the monitor is turned on and set to the correct input source.
  5. Your MacBook should now recognize both monitors and display the desktop across both screens. You may need to adjust the resolution or orientation of the displays in your MacBook’s settings to optimize the dual monitor setup.
  6. Enjoy your new dual monitor setup! You can now use both screens to multitask and increase your productivity on your MacBook.


IF YOU PURCHASED THE BUNDLE FOR DUAL MONITOR SETUP FOR M1 OR M2:

  1. Your bundle should include the Ascrono Docking Station (that is compatible with your MacBook), 5-in-1 Multiport Adapter and the Ascrono External Graphics Adapter.
  2. Download the driver from the link above and install it on your MacBook.
  3. Set up your MacBook to the Ascrono Docking Station. See the Instructions Page for complete setup instructions for the docking station.
  4. Connect the Ascrono External Graphics Adapter to one of the USB-C ports at the back of the docking station. Note that you can also connect this adapter to a USB-A port if you prefer to use another multiport adapter for more connection. The adapter should be recognized by your MacBook automatically.
  5. Connect your first monitor to the Ascrono External Graphics Adapter using the HDMI port. Make sure the monitor is turned on and set to the correct input source.
  6. Connect the 5-in-1 multiport adapter to the other port of the docking station then connect your second monitor to the HDMI port of this adapter. Again, make sure the monitor is turned on and set to the correct input source.
  7. Your MacBook should now recognize both monitors and display the desktop across both screens. You may need to adjust the resolution or orientation of the displays in your MacBook’s settings to optimize the dual monitor setup.
  8. Enjoy your new dual monitor setup! You can now use both screens to multitask and increase your productivity on your MacBook.
